ఈనాడు, అమరావతి: అమరావతి క్వాంటమ్‌ వ్యాలీలోని అమరావతి క్వాంటమ్‌ కంప్యూటింగ్‌ సెంటర్‌లో(ఏక్యూసీసీ) ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ ఇన్నోవేషన్‌ సెంటర్‌ నిర్వహణ, ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ నెట్‌వర్క్‌లో (ఐక్యూఎన్‌) భాగస్వామ్యం అయ్యేందుకు అనుమతిస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం ఉత్తర్వులిచ్చింది. క్వాంటమ్‌ విద్య, పరిశోధన, ఆవిష్కరణలు, ఎకోసిస్టమ్‌ అభివృద్ధి, నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి, ప్రపంచవ్యాప్త భాగస్వామ్య కార్యక్రమాలలో సహకారాన్ని పెంపొందించడానికి ఏక్యూసీసీ పరిధిలో ఒక ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ ఇన్నోవేషన్‌ సెంటర్‌ ఏర్పాటుకు, ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ నెట్‌వర్క్‌లో ఏక్యూసీసీని చేర్చడానికి ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ చేసిన ప్రతిపాదనపై ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది.

• రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి చెందిన అత్యున్నత క్వాంటమ్‌ ఎకోసిస్టమ్‌గా అమరావతి క్వాంటమ్‌ వ్యాలీ ఉంటుంది.

• క్వాంటమ్‌ కంప్యూటింగ్, దాని కార్యక్రమాల అమలుకు ప్రభుత్వం ఏర్పాటుచేసిన సంస్థాగత విభాగం ఏక్యూసీసీ తన విధులను కొనసాగిస్తుంది. 

• ఇరుపక్షాల మధ్య కుదిరిన ఒప్పందానికి లోబడి, ఏక్యూసీసీ పరిధిలో భాగంగా ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ ఇన్నోవేషన్‌ సెంటర్‌ నిర్వహించడానికి అనుమతించింది. 

• ఏక్యూసీసీ పరిధిలో నిర్వహించే ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ ఇన్నోవేషన్‌ సెంటర్, ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌ నెట్‌వర్క్, ఐబీఎం క్వాంటమ్‌కు సంబంధించిన విద్య, పరిశోధన, వినూత్న ఆవిష్కరణలు, ఎకోసిస్టమ్‌ కార్యక్రమాల్లో భాగస్వామ్యం కావచ్చు.

• ఈ మేరకు తగిన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని ఏపీ స్టేట్‌ క్వాంటమ్‌ మిషన్‌ (ఎస్‌క్యూఎం) మిషన్‌ డైరెక్టర్‌ను ఆదేశించింది. 

రాజధానిలో అంతర్జాతీయ కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌

అమరావతిలో అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రమాణాలతో కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌ నిర్మించేందుకు ఏపీఐఐసీకి 8 ఎకరాలను ప్రభుత్వం కేటాయించింది. ఇప్పటికే విజయవాడలో డాక్టర్‌ బి.ఆర్‌.అంబేడ్కర్‌ కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌ను ప్రభుత్వం ప్రారంభించింది. ఇదే తరహాలో రాష్ట్రంలో మొత్తం ఐదు సెంటర్లను నిర్మించనున్నట్లు సీఎం చంద్రబాబు ప్రకటించారు. అందుకు అనుగుణంగా అమరావతిలో కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌ నిర్మాణానికి భూములను ప్రభుత్వం కేటాయించింది. దీని ఆకృతి, నిర్మాణానికి వివిధ సంస్థల నుంచి ప్రతిపాదనలను ఏపీఐఐసీ స్వీకరించనుంది. తర్వాత కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌ ప్లాన్‌ను సిద్ధం చేయనుంది. దీంతోపాటు మరికొన్ని ప్రధాన నగరాల్లోనూ కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్ల నిర్మాణానికి అనువైన భూములను ఏపీఐఐసీ పరిశీలిస్తోంది. ఇప్పటికే కొన్నిచోట్ల భూముల పరిశీలన పూర్తిచేసింది. వాటిలో అనువైన భూములను ఎంపిక చేసి.. ప్రభుత్వానికి ప్రతిపాదించనుంది.

Andhra govt approves Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre to host IBM QIC

Amaravati, Jun 8 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the AQCC to host an IBM QIC, IT Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni has said.

IBM QIC can participate in the IBM Quantum Network (IQN), which include academic institutions, industry clients, startups and other partners advancing quantum computing.

As part of the network, Quantum Innovation Centers (QIC) serve as hubs for research and capacity building. Boeing, Wells Fargo and Cleveland Clinic are among several IQN partners.

Katamneni said the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre (AQCC) will host IBM QIC within its institutional framework in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed between the parties.

“AQCC is permitted to host an IBM Quantum Innovation Centre within its institutional framework. IBM QIC hosted within AQCC may participate in the IBM Quantum Network and associated educational, research, innovation and ecosystem programmes of IBM Quantum,” he said in a Government Order (GO) on Sunday.

According to the GO, IBM Quantum has proposed hosting an IBM QIC within AQCC and including AQCC in IQN to facilitate collaboration in quantum education, research, innovation, ecosystem development, workforce skilling and global engagement initiatives.

AQCC was set up in the southern state under the Companies Act, 2013 to promote quantum computing research, innovation, skilling, industry collaboration and ecosystem development in Andhra Pradesh.

However, Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) shall continue to remain the overarching quantum ecosystem initiative of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The state government is implementing AQV initiative as a comprehensive quantum ecosystem comprising academia, research institutions, industry, startups, government agencies and strategic technology partners for advancement of quantum technologies.

Further, Katamneni noted that this arrangement does not involve any financial liability, commitment or recurring expenditure on the exchequer in the present or in future, unless specific approval of the government is obtained separately. PTI STH KH

In a major push to its ambitions of becoming a national leader in advanced technologies, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved the establishment of an IBM Quantum Innovation Center within the Amaravati Quantum Computing Center (AQCC) .

The approval was formally issued by IT Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni , paving the way for Andhra Pradesh to join the prestigious IBM Quantum Network , a global ecosystem that connects leading academic institutions, industries, startups and research organizations working in the field of quantum computing.

The IBM Quantum Network includes several internationally renowned organizations, including Boeing, Wells Fargo and Cleveland Clinic, and serves as a platform for collaboration in quantum research, innovation and workforce development. By becoming part of this network, Andhra Pradesh aims to strengthen its access to global expertise and emerging opportunities in one of the world's fastest-evolving technology sectors.

According to the government order, IBM Quantum has proposed setting up the innovation center within the AQCC framework to support cooperation in quantum education, advanced research, innovation, skill development and international engagement initiatives . The center is expected to help researchers, students, startups and industry partners gain exposure to cutting-edge quantum technologies and foster a stronger innovation ecosystem in the state.

The move builds on the government's earlier efforts to establish AQCC under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 , with the objective of accelerating quantum computing research and encouraging industry participation. Officials believe the new partnership will further enhance Andhra Pradesh's ability to attract investment, talent and research collaborations in the deep-tech sector.

At the same time, the government clarified that the broader Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) initiative will continue to remain the state's flagship quantum technology project. Conceived as a comprehensive ecosystem, AQV seeks to bring together universities, research institutions, startups, industries and government agencies under a single collaborative platform to drive innovation and commercial applications of quantum technologies.

Importantly, the government has stated that the agreement with IBM does not place any immediate or future financial burden on the state exchequer. Bhaskar Katamneni noted that the arrangement does not involve recurring expenditure or additional budgetary commitments. Any future financial obligations, if required, would be subject to separate approval from the government.

The approval marks another significant step in Andhra Pradesh's efforts to position Amaravati as a premier destination for quantum computing research, innovation and talent development , while strengthening its integration with the global quantum technology landscape.

Amaravati Quantum Valley to Get IBM Quantum Network Center

Amaravati is set to become a major hub for quantum technology with the establishment of an IBM Quantum Innovation Center under the Quantum Valley initiative. The center will support research, skill development, startups, and industry collaborations in advanced technologies such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and life sciences.
