VB each train cost ~115cr, the earlier proposed technology implementation cost was 80000 crore, neeku ardham ayye basha lo cheppali ante that is 3 times the funds allocated to railways by UPA in 2013, since it’s not feasible he asked to develop a cheaper solution and Kavach was done. It was field tested 2022 with railway minister himself travelling in the train and later implemented for trial jn 125 km and currently 1200 km in works in south central railway. 2000 more km this year and plan is to rollout for all HDN lines which might take 4-5 yrs to complete but given this incident they might make it high priority and do it in 3-4 yrs.
