2019 election tarvata EVMs meeda doubt vachindi but mana state lo janalni chusaka Valle vesaru anipinchindi. But 100% confidence aithe ledu EVMs meeda.

EVM tampering theory lo main point which was put forward was that every nth vote would go to one-party irrespective of the actual vote. So 1/25 ante almost 4% votes may get tampered. Huge wave unapudu 4% tampering (max 2% adv to one party) chesina pedda ga change undadu like in KA.

So janalaki confidence penche measures teskovatam better instead of crying like this after every BJP defeat.

The current EVM design after introducing VVPAT has made the machine so much vulnerable.

 

Before the VVPAT was introduced there were 2 units, the ballot where you press the button to cast your vote and the Control Unit (CU) which counts the votes for each number on the ballot. When the final result is taken from the CU it gives the votes against each number (not the candidate/party).

 

Nowhere, in this system does the machine know which number on the ballot belongs to which candidate or party.

 

The VVPAT was introduced because we wanted to know whether what we pressed on the ballot was actually going to the CU or not.

 

 After introducing VVPAT, the VVPAT, another electronic device with a microprocessor sits between the Ballot and CU.

 

The current EVM design is that when a button is pressed on the Ballot, this signal goes to the VVPAT which displays the symbol of the party that the candidate belongs to and then the signal goes to the CU which counts the vote.

 

Since the machine is able to print the symbol pressed on the ballot, it knows which button(number) belongs to which candidate. 

 

So now the VVPAT can be programmed in various ways to manipulate the signal that goes into the CU.

 

Eg. 1. Every vote goes to a certain party (obviously easy to detect)

 

2. Every Nth vote goes to a certain party. (Will be caught during test vote)

 

3. First m votes are not changed, after that every Nth vote goes to a certain party. 

 

Say, first 10000 votes don't change and after that every 20th Vote will go to a certain party. 

 

To detect this you'll have to test with at least 10020 votes before you get any anomaly.

 

So, the design is really really flawed.

 

The VVPAT and the CU should have no connections at all. 

 

I have attached the design for achieving the same without giving up on the VVPAT.
