Golden Temple Works Starts at Kondaveedu

The work on Iskcon's first golden temple in South India is swiftly progressing at the historical Kondaveedu fort in Guntur district. Presently, the construction of 108 mandaps with South Indian and Rajasthan architecture is under progress and Swarna Hamsa (golden swan) work would start in 10 days.

Kondaveedu, which is famous for its ancient fort will get another feather with the Iskcon golden temple in its cap and would turn into an international tourist centre. This is the first of its kind golden temple in South India and Iskcon is planning to turn Kondaveedu fort into a religious tourist centre.

The state government allotted 82 acres of land for Butter Krishna golden temple under Hamsa project proposed in 16.88 acres of land in survey number 279 in the first phase, a Cow University and cow protection centre in 23-acres in the second phase, Bhakti Vedanta Education Centre in the third phase, international Vedic Gurukul in the fourth phase and Bhakti Vedanta Hospital, old age home, international school and children's home would be built in the fifth phase.

Besides this, a food court with big parking place and an international guest house would be built for devotees. Isckon South India president and trustee of golden temple project Satyagopinath Das Said that Swarna Hamsa temple would be golden plated and it is the first of its kind golden temple in the South India.

 

Amaravati’s first major attraction almost ready

Amaravati is all set to get its major tourist attraction ready with Iskcon almost finishing the construction of South India’s first golden temple. The Iskcon temple is coming up with the construction of 108 mandaps in the South Indian and Rajasthani architectural style and work on the Swarna Hamsa (golden swan) is going on near Kondaveedu. The golden temple is likely to be an international tourist center after it is completed. The temple construction began after a idol of Vennamudda (butter) Krishna was found during excavations at the foot of the Kondaveedu hill few months ago. They say it is the only one of its kind in the Asian continent, built by Vijayanagara king, Krishnadevaraya. The Golden Temple is coming up at cost of 500 Crore. Iskcon is undertaking the construction also with the participation (donation) from devotees, such as donating saplings for plantation, Krishna Leela idols, fountains, grills, bricks, cement, iron, sand, doors, marble, tiles, fans, silver and brass puja objects. The state government had allotted land.

 

Good... ISKON temple ki baaga reach untundi.... Will boost tourism

It is known that ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) is constructing a golden temple with a cost of Rs.200 crore in Kondaveedu, Guntur District. The constructions works are started few months back and going on smoothly according to the plan.

The construction works of 108 mandirams are going on. In all these 108 mandirams, it will project the various phases of Lord Krishna. Mythological stories like ‘Godavardhanagiri’, ‘Geethopadesam’ etc.. can be known from these 108 manidrams.

The first phase works are expected to be completed within 2 years. The entire temple would be constructed with pink stone, which is imported from Rajasthan. The red sand of Rajasthan was used for these arches. Two audio-visual theaters, 4-D theatres would come, which would propagate Vedic knowledge. A musical fountain, Koneru, yagasala, medical centers and other attractions would be completed in the first phase.

The main temple work is going to start next month. The main temple would resemble in the share of Swan and the presiding deity is Venna Krishna.
