గన్నవరం ఎయిర్‌పోర్టు నుంచి కార్గో సేవలు ప్రారంభించటానికి రంగం సిద్ధం అయింది. కార్గో బిల్డింగ్‌ నిర్మాణానికి ఎయిర్‌పోర్టు అథారిటీ ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియా (ఏఏఐ) విజయవాడ అధికారులు టెండర్లు పిలిచారు. రూ.39.74 లక్షల వ్యయంతో కేవలం మూడు నెలల్లోనే నిర్మించే ప్రాతిపదికన టెండర్లు పిలవటం గమనార్హం. పుష్కరాల నాటికి కార్గో బిల్డింగ్‌ పనులు కూడా పూర్తయ్యే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఎప్పుడెప్పుడా అని ఎదురు చూస్తున్న కార్గో సేవలు కూడా ఇక అందుబాటులోకి రానున్నాయి. ప్రస్తుతం పిలిచిన టెండర్లు ఇంటీరియమ్‌ కార్గో టెర్మినల్‌ బిల్డింగ్‌కు మాత్రమే. ప్రస్తుతం గన్నవరం ఎయిర్‌పోర్టు నుంచి నడుస్తున్న ఢిల్లీ, బెంగళూరు, చెన్నై, విశాఖ, హైదరాబాద్‌, కడప, తిరుపతికి నడిచే ఆయా ప్యాసింజర్‌ విమానాల్లోని కార్గో బ్లాక్‌లలో కార్గో పార్శిల్స్‌ రవాణా చేయటానికి వీలుగా ఈ ఇంటీరియమ్‌ కార్గో టెర్మినల్‌ బిల్డింగ్‌ను ఉపయోగించుకుంటారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఎయిర్‌పోర్టులో అత్యాధునిక టెర్మినల్‌ బిల్డింగ్‌ నిర్మాణ పనులు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఈ టెర్మినల్‌ బిల్దింగ్‌ కూడా పుష్కరాల నాటికి పూర్తయ్యే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయి. నూతన టెర్మినల్‌ బిల్డింగ్‌లోకి ప్రవేశించగానే ప్రస్తుతం ఉపయోగిస్తున్న టెర్మినల్‌ బిల్డింగ్‌ను పూర్తిస్థాయిలో కార్గో బిల్డింగ్‌గా ఉపయోగించుకునే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. కార్గో ఎగుమతి, దిగుమతులు ఎక్కువుగా ఉంటే రానున్న రోజుల్లో ప్రత్యేకంగా కార్గో విమానాలు సైతం తిరిగే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. ఇప్పటికే పలు ఆనలైన మార్కెటింగ్‌ సంస్థలు విమానాల ద్వారా పార్శిల్‌ ్స రవాణా చేయటానికి వీలుగా గోడౌన్ల సముదాయం కల్పించాల్సిందిగా ఏఏఐను కోరుతున్నాయి. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో, ఏఏఐ కూడా గోడౌన్ల ఏర్పాటు విషయమై ఆలోచిస్తున్నాయి.

భవిష్యత్తులో గన్నవరం ఎయిర్‌పోర్టు నుంచి కార్గోకు భారీగా డిమాండ్‌ ఉంటుందన్న ఉద్దేశంతో ముందస్తుగా ఎయిర్‌పోర్టు ఆవరణలో కోల్డ్‌స్టోరేజ్‌ రూమ్‌ ఏర్పాటు చేయాలన్న భావనలో ఏఏఐ అధికారులు ఉన్నారు. కోల్డ్‌ స్టోరేజ్‌ రూమ్‌ను ఏర్పాటు చేయటానికి ఎయిర్‌పోర్టులోని కొంత స్థలాన్ని లీజుకు ఇవ్వాలని భావిస్తోంది. ఎవరైనా ముందుకు వస్తే ఆ స్థలంలో భవన నిర్మాణం చేయించాలన్న ఆలోచనతో ఉంది. ఆహార పదార్థాలు, పానీయాలు, కోల్డ్‌ స్టోరేజ్‌లో నిల్వ చేసుకునే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. ఇక్కడ నుంచి వీటిని విమానాలలో ఇతర ప్రాంతాలకు ఎగుమతి చేసుకునే వెసులుబాటు ఉంటుంది.

ప్రస్తుతం ఆధునికీకరించిన కార్గో బిల్డింగ్‌లో ప్రయాణికుల సదుపాయాల కోసం అనేక టెండర్లు పలిచారు. వీటిలో మొదటిది బీర్‌ ప్రొవిజన. చల్లటి బీర్‌ను ఆస్వాదించటానికి వీలుగా అనేక స్వదేశీ, విదేశీ బ్రాండ్స్‌తో కూడిన షాప్‌కు అవకాశం ఇవ్వాలని ఏఏఐ నిర్ణయించింది. ప్రయాణికుల నుంచి ఏఏఐ ఫీడ్‌బ్యాక్‌ తీసుకుంటున్న నేపథ్యంలో భాగంగా బీర్‌ ప్రొవిజన ఏర్పాటు చేయటానికి టెండర్లు పిలిచింది. అరైవల్‌ బ్లాక్‌లో రెండు హోటల్స్‌ ఏర్పాటుకు కూడా ఏఏఐ టెండర్లు పిలిచింది. స్టాఫ్‌ కిచెన, స్నాక్‌ బార్‌ షాపులకు కూడా ఏఏఐ టెండర్లు పిలిచింది. ప్రయాణికులకు నవల్స్‌, పుస్తకాలు తదితరాలను అందుబాటులో ఉంచటానికి వీలుగా బుక్‌ - నావెల్స్‌ - గిఫ్ట్స్‌ షాప్‌కు కూడా టెండర్లు పిలిచారు. ముత్యాలు, ముత్యాల ఆభరణాల షాపునకు కూడా ఇటీవలే టెండర్లు పిలిచారు.
