Guest Posted September 15, 2008 Share Posted September 15, 2008 Hyderabad: Film actor-turned-politician Chiranjivi, here on Monday, sought lay to rest the criticism that he had “no clear-cut understanding on several issues” confronting the State. Addressing a press conference here, Chiranjivi made a bid to defend himself against criticism that he was new to politics and politics were not akin to acting in films. He said he had “a full comprehension of problems like separate Telangana and Scheduled Caste categorization.” He would make his stand clear after he studied these problems in depth and scientifically. He said his tour of districts would start from the end of this month. But enrolment of members would start once the Central Election Commission gave the clearance to the party name “Praja Rajyam.” He denied that the party was lagging behind in taking up the cause of people. “Taking part in people’s movements is not alone a qualification for anybody to enter political arena. One may also participate in people’s movements even after taking a plunge into active politics,” he pointed out. On film actor Rajasekhar’s assertion that Chiranjivi cannot become the chief minister, Chiranjivi said “he (Rajasekhar) may be right” Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
