There are many corrupt people, and I think, the corrupt people are also highly educated," the Tibetan spiritual leader said while addressing the sixth convocation ceremony of the Martin Christian Luther University here."They (some educated people) pray to God but the purpose of their prayer is to make their corrupt life more successful," he added amidst thunderous applause from the audience at the Soso Tham auditorium.Meghalaya governor K K Paul, chief minister Mukul Sangma and a host of his cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats were also present.The Dalai Lama, on his maiden visit to this mountainous state capital of Meghalaya, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the private varsity.He said religious harmony and "ahimsa" are relevant in today's world as religion has become an "instrument to cheat people"."In western countries, secularism means being negative towards religion while in India it means respect of all religions, and India can promote religious harmony and 'ahimsa'," he said.Lamenting that modern education has contributed to the degradation of human values and given rise to corruption, the Nobel Peace laureate said ancient Indian knowledge must find place in the modern Indian education system."Modern India is multi-cultural, multi-linguistic and multi-racial. It is like the United Nations. I feel the greatness of India. Its people are harmless, and it is an example to the rest of the world as people are living together happily," the Buddhist spiritual leader said.Asking China to learn from India on how to live together, the Dalai Lama said: "I use to tell my Chinese friends that they should learn from India. Some Chinese hardliners see Tibet as a source of danger. But we are not seeking separation from China.""Tibet must remain with China for economic development but the Chinese government must respect Tibet's unique language, script, culture, and ecology. The day this happens.....It will be the beginning of the rise again for India.....India will again dominate the world in every sphere of human endeavour....whether it is science, technology, arts, philosophy, music...sports, sex ....you name it and what not.... Think cheyyandi....Good or Bad pakkana pettandi vaalla Politics......Kejriwal and JP etc talk at the best in Physical things...ee policy pedadhaama, aa program pedadhaama..... NO life experience or Expertise in Meta Physical or Spiritual dimensions....All their education and skillset from English( ofcourse Indian college degrees) courses....They simply do not have the Spiritual Experience, Tough Discipline, Moral code requirements, Modesty at personal life to deduce knowledge from....Not much to glean from those dimensions..... Ramdev- being non-politician also talks Physical stuff( not as much as the other two in policy .....but still talks broad policy in bigger consequential things if you see closely....like Tax system,and foreign relations, overhauling the governance and some more).......ofcourse Prepared his entire life for the Meta Physical and other dimensions....So when he talks a thing,physical or metaphysical, by definition it has to balance or in sync with other dimensions also.......It can not Contradict his cardinal philosophy.....There is no separation, i.e., right in this compartment not sure in other compartment or wrong in altogether in some important compartment pertaining to People, Life, Culture, Standard of Living etc....Atleast in theory it has to be integrated.... Lets put this way......Cosmopolitan cities lO, typical sense, safer for a secular liberal mind to align with a Politician(Kejriwal/JP) than a Non-politician(Ramdev)....yendhuku adhi...Give a thought when you are at your leisure over a cup of coffee about this..... We are the fortunate inheritors of a great vedantic tradition, which looks at life in this world and tries to find its underlying meaning. The quintessence of Vedanta has a dual dimension and the Rigveda lays down the dual purpose of human life: " Atmano mokshartham jagat hitayacha " We look forward to the emancipation of our souls through welfare of the world...
