Mekha
What do representatives do? What does Senate do?  House = Loksabha Senate = Rajyasabha  House representatives are peoples' representatives directly elected by the people (like Loksabha) Senators are state representatives (2 per-state x 50 states = 100 seats) also directly elected by the people (Unlike Rajyasabha which is nominated)  Both House and Senate pass laws balancing peoples' and states' interests. Any law becomes law if bill passes in both places.
Karlapudi
House - 435 Representatives. Number of representatives from each state depends on the population. Senate -100. Each state has 2 representatives. So interests of states and voice of people, Both are equally important. Bill on any Policy will be initiated in the House and after approval it will be moved to Senate. After approval of senate, President will approve it. So if control of Senate and House belongs to different parties, it is very difficult for president to pass anything.
