NTR Trust Atlanta has organized an event to celebrate the 86th birthday of Sri. NTR the event was held at the Cambridge clubhouse.
The evening started off with Jyothi Prajwalana of Sri NTR’s photograph by Chinnarulu Chi. Akshitha, Chi. Sai, Chi. Manasa, Chi. Divya, Chi. Apoorva, Chi. Srikar, Chi. Medhana, Chi. Anuhya and it was kicked off by Ms. Srivalli Kondur’s and Ms. Anitha Bhagavathula’s singing of ‘Maa Telugu Talliki’ song, following that local singers under the leadership of Sri Ram Durvasula did ‘NTR Lahari’ sang songs from various NTR hits and enthralled the large audience with Ms. Sridevi Dadithota, Ms. Anitha Bhagavathula and Mr. Venkat Chennubhotla singing a number of popular songs from Sri NTR’s popular movies.
It was followed by a skit which was played by kids depicting the changed stature of woman in our society and how it poses challenges toward marriages of women in the new setup. The skit was screenplayed by Mr. Tarakesh and the participants were Chi. Haritha, Chi. Manasa, Chi Divya, Chi Apoorva and Chi Alekhya and the performance of the kids was very much cheered by the audience with continuous ovation. NTR Trust Atlanta would like to thank Ms. Gayatri Kadiyala, Ms. Madhavi Vegunta and Ms Jyotsna Yendapally for coordinating the successful skit.
Following the skit young kids danced to the songs in the Movie Yama Donga, kids who participated were Chi.Neha Vemuri Chi. Meghana Vemuri Chi. Akshita Surapaneni Chi. Anjali Devarapalli Chi. Saketh Surapaneni Chi. Kamal Korrapati Chi. Sowmya Vellanki Chi. Preethi Vellanki and Chi.Akhil Jagarlamudi. The organizers thanked Ms. Asha Vellanki for the costumes and Ms. Madhavi Korrapati for coordinating the event.
All through the evening the audience was quizzed with questions related to Sri NTR’s cinema and political life and the winners were given instant prizes . Sri Daggubati Rao garu a yesteryear producer of ‘Rajaputhra Rahasyam’ with Sri NTR as the hero was present at the event and one of the enthusiastic participant in the NTR quiz program.
A large cake with a message of ‘ NTR Birthday Celebrations by NTR Trust Atlanta ‘ was cut by the kids to mark the memorable day.
Videos depicting the NTR trust activities were screened to raise awareness of NTR Trust and its programs.
A collection of videos compiled by the volunteers were screened and they had speeches by NTR from yesteryears. Mr. Moorthy Rekapalli spoke about the service activities that NTR Trust has taken up and explained the need to take up more of the same as they are close to Sri NTR’s philosophies. It was a inspiring speech well received by the audience with a thunderous applause.
Mr. Raj Kumar Koduru one of the youngster participants spoke about the greatness of Sri NTR and how he gave an identity to Telugus across the world. In his speech he also eulogized [pogadadamu] Sri NTR for making the downtrodden sections of the society actively participate in the political process and also for bringing political awareness to the masses.
Following dinner NTR antakshari was organised and it had a lot of active participants. The event was concluded by a vote of thanks by Mr. GopiChand. Overall the event was a grand success with a huge turnout exceeding 350 people, the audience was represented by all age groups and consisting of senior citizens, women, kids and a lot of youngsters. A unique fact about the event was the audience was responsive with the 10-13 year old kids giving ‘NTR Amarrahe’ slogans and dancing wildly to Sri NTR’and did not leave the venue till 11pm when the event was over and vote of thanks was proposed, considering the fact that it was a mid week [vaaram madhyalo] event than a weekend [vaaranthapu] event the turnout was heavy and shows the love of the people for Annagaaru. It is no stretch to call this event held outside India on Sri NTR’s birthday as a mega and popular one.
NTR Trust Atlanta specially thanks Ms. Lalitha Surapaneni and Ms. Anitha Bhagavathula who have coordinated the entire event and have made it a huge success without their contribution this would not have been such a huge hit. NTR Trust Atlanta would also like to thank Venkatesh Duggirala and Prakash Kadiyala for coordinating technical aspects of the event without the same the event would not have been successful. We also like to sincerely thank many a people who efforts have made this a grand success and we are very much indebted to them and their time and effort is very much appreciated.
