Taking a cue from Tamil Nadu, the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly this evening adopted a bill unanimously to change the nomenclature of NTR University of Health Sciences into Dr NTR University of Health Sciences as the former Chief Minister had been awarded honorary doctarate. Piloting the bill to amend the NTR University of Health Sciences Act, 1986, Health Minister K Rosaiah said the bill sought to change the nomenclature taking into view the award of honorary doctorate to the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and the changing of the nomenclature of ”MGR University of Health Sciences” as ”Dr MGR University of Health Sciences” and also the adding ”Acharya” before the ”Nagarjuna University.”
