NTR scores his biggest hit till date with ASHOK in the overseas market
EDISON, New Jersey – July 15th 2006: NTR won over the overseas audiences with his mainense, powerful performance in ASHOK. The movie release saw as many anxious, dramatic moments as the film itself has to offer. To begin with ASHOK comes after a considerable gap for NTR and after a series of films that hadn’t fully succeeded in utilizing NTR’s potential as an actor and his popularity as a star. When he teamed up with Surender Reddy, there was tremendous excitement and anticipation. Soon after, the music of ASHOK became super hit and the slick promos raised the expectations even further. Though the Producer and NTR himself tried to mamainain a low profile, the expectations sky rocketed by the time the release neared. Now came the other dramatic developments. The tragic events in Mumbai forced the delay in shipping of prmains of ASHOK to USA. Multitudes of NTR fans and curious audiences who were expecting nothing but the best this time from NTR had to wait patiently for two days before the prmains eventually reached USA.
The first screenings of ASHOK finally took place towards late night of Friday in New Jersey, San Jose, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta. The patience and the undeterred optimism of NTR fans paid rich dividends as the crowds were delighted to witness a scmainillating fare from NTR.
As many as 1700 people watched ASHOK within a very short span amidst chaos, cancellations and rescheduling. Both the shows in New Jersey were sold out two hours before their stmain time. Enthusiastic fans waited through three rounds of last minute cancellations and postponements in Chicago and watched the film at 11:30PM. The show was sold out within minutes. Same is the case in Atlanta, San Jose and Dallas as well. An extra show was announced in the last minute in Atlanta. Due to the delay in getting the prmains on time, Detroit shows were cancelled on Friday. Regular shows will stmain from Saturday. Here is the breakup of numbers on Day 1

The satisfied fans immediately called up their counterpmains in India and some of them even succeeded to reach NTR himself over phone to share their joy of watching a most awaited hit film from NTR. Incidentally this is the first time KAD Entertainment, the leading overseas distributors are marketing an NTR film. Representatives of KAD expressed their sincere regret for all the inconvenience caused because of factors beyond their control, but expressed their pleasure for stmaining an association with NTR films on a successful note despite all the hurdles. They also thanked Sri Valluri Palli Ramesh and Sri Madhu Murali for all their support.
We also received reports from Australia distributors that film had amazing openings.
