kaNTRi completed 50 days today. An analysis of what it is to NTR !

It started silently without much hype. It was publicized as make over film for NTR. The director made his debut in Telugu after a couple of flop Kannada movies.

Vijayanthi had a string of flops before this movie.

The pre-release publicity was at its nadir. There was no audio function, no platinum disk function and the producer sited some silly reasons for low pre-release promotion.

The film release with below average talk. It was released amidst IPL and many other major releases. Trade analysis thought it would be another 'sainikudu'.

But to everyone's suprise it made Tsunami of openings. It did extra-ordinary business in its first 3 weeks and started declining from there. Even after release it didnt have good promotion or publicity.

What it means to NTR


It created new base for NTR. It did exceptional business in A class centers, Multiplexes, Overseas, otherstates.

NTR proves to be money spinner at the box office. He carries the entire film on his shoulders. He didnt get any support from Producer in form of promotion, lousy direction, below par audio by mani but just carried the film away.

NTR increases acceptability in different section of audience.

His old image of Rustic Mass bulky one is wiped out and he is gaining the image of Urbane stylish youth without losing his hold in the masses.

It proved the stamina and strength of NTR. It collected 25+ crores. Its bigger than any of NTRs contemporary heroes second best movies. ( better than MB's any movie except Pokiri, bigger than Chiruta)

People are ready to accept NTR as the next No.1 with the exit of the present one..

People are ready to accept NTR in totally entertainer movies.

It proved how reslient NTR movies can be in midst of competition.

It raises expectations about the future flicks of NTR. Imagine NTR+VVV coming for Sankranthi 2009. If it gets good talk what would be the range? Any idea atleast.

Ceded  -  4.3 cr  (Highest in 2008)

Nizam  -  7.4 cr

Andhra  - 8.75 cr

Karnataka - 2.1 cr ( First 50 days movie in blore in 2008)

Other states - 40 lacs

US  - 1.75 crores

Gulf+overseas - 50 lacs

Total - 25+ cr

Apart from the Audio, Satellite, cd rights. It would make it to around 28 cr closing business which is exceptionally .

Thanks ! skilaru mama personal choice is different but audio is not chartbusters by any means. commercial ga success kaledu and background music is more disappointing which usually is best in mani's music.

super annaiah your analysis super it should be seen by some people who will not accept the truth that NTR is NO.1 then they will definetly say that it is right. yes ur right mani didnot given the best music.he can give better than this. and recording was too worst and he didnot given the background music it really sad to say that he had given worst in his big movies.please anna kept atlaest one tag for 1 week and ur analysis is ultimate and it is never before :) :)

Best analysis so far on kaNTRi.

kaNTRi started very promisingly all over and what hell happened I don't know it is not as expected as in the first week.
No publicity, no hungama, no statements from producer.

The anti-fans in the other DB's are saying that it ends at the share of 18 crores. And they say in Nizam it collected a share of 5 crores only.
Sometimes, I am in a big dilemma to believe these figures.
Is there a way that we can have some authentic proofs with which we can silent the haters?

As you mentioned, this is a new beginning of NTR and there is a lot to explore with each movie of him.
He is the number one star in Telugu, it doen't matter if somebody doesn't like saying it.
Future is the witness for it. Let us enjoy our days with NTR movies for another half-century.

NTR_RANA, Thanks ! Others fans forums lo kuda nizam lo 6 cr ani rastunnaru after cutting down its size. Everyone is very subjective when they write against NTR . The reason is every fan believes their favourite is the future superstar and the only obstacle to it is NTR. Its the same feeling be it MB fans, Mega fans or others.

So they tend to undersize the facts. Its very natural and going forward NTR will face even more stiffer resistance . Every No.1 hero (barring legend NTR) has faced the same problem in their progression to the top 1 slot. Its not so easy to digest the fact that someone else is siezing the top position.

Ika facts ante distributor statement ichadu first week 4.4+ cr. Its 3.72 + 71 lacs FH. 2 Weeks ku 6 cr datindi. everyone excepted 8.5 but it didnt reach that figure
