If there is no awareness and fear, will people wear masks and follow social distance? Are there any scientific studies (with proper controls) that conclude that fear and anxiety makes one more vulnerable to COVID? How can a common person not panic when he/she sees their dear ones suffer and suffocate to death? In a country like ours, well-balanced fear is the only way to achieve wide-spread precautions and safety measures.

Everyone knows that a mutation in the RNA leads to variations in the spike and/or nucleocapsid protein compared to the original SARS-CoV-2. These are basic facts. One need not be an expert or a virologist to deduce these conclusions. I don't doubt his credibility but I don't think there is very much useful information here.
