In the context of AP, this doesn't work. sorry, this applies to even household also. In a rouge counties , to control hyper inflation they print more paper notes. Jaggadiki aa option ledu, because of high inflation in A.P unemployement peruguddi, invetsments taggipotai , janala purchasing power padi poddi ... this results in revenue loss to state. To fill the revenue gap .. jagga has to get more and more debts. If there is reduction in debts ... it results less money flow in to system and state revenue completely collapses. ee year jagga oka 1.2 lakh crore appu cheyyaka pote ... A.P collapse avvuddi. bharath_k
Oka exaple esta : Fuel meeda jagga 7% penchadu. Liquor meeda 300% price price penchadu. land regisrations meeda anni valutions double chesadu. power KWH meeda price 50% penchadu. ration meeda, cement meeda, steel meeda, sand meeda almost price double chesadu. House tax, professional tax ani kooralu ammukone vallani kooda vadala ledu. ---------------------- enni penchadam valla --- high inflation andhra lo record aiyyindi. Kaani state revenue choste ee year 75,000 crore vastundemo ( 11 months ki 68,820 crore vacchindi ) adi kooda ee year 1 lakh pine appulu tecchi panchina taruvata. ----------------------- Kani 3 year back CBN time lo pina cheppina taxlu emi veyyakunda, kevalam 20,000 crore debt teste 91,000 crore revenue vacchindi. surely inflation is a indicatr for chain reaction of collapse. Kumbk
I get what you are saying, but the inflation in AP is not uncontrollable if India's inflation is at a reasonable level. AP is tightly coupled to India. And goods and people move freely between AP and neighboring states. Based on the statistics you gave, the increased tax component is contributing to temporary inflation disparity. But it won't last forever. On the other hand, I agree with your analysis of bleak future for AP state. But that is not linked to uncontrollable inflation which happens only in failed countries who print their currencies, when people loose trust in the country's banking system. If this high tax regime persists for a longer period, the effective prices of the assets will correct themselves accordingly (will go down lower) and there will be movement of people as well. This is similar to super high taxes we pay in New Jersey in USA compared to very little taxes in other states. Keeping every thing else constant, in high tax states, the valuation of fixed assets like land and buildings are typically low and won't increase at a rate comparable to that of states that have low tax rates. On the other hand, prices of goods and services tend to be high. Your writeup is good for circulating among friends.
