The price ex-refinery of petrol is Rs. 30/litre. All kinds of taxes and Petrol pump commission add up the remainder Rs.60. In my view petrol must sell at max. But ee baffas ki teliyandi enti ante it is impacting the automobile industry. High petrol/diesel prices discourages people to buy passenger vehicles which is affecting auto sales. Add to that 28%GST and 5 year insurance on 2 wheelers and 3 year insurance for 4 wheelers which are added when we buy the vehicle. Moreover it increases transport costs which again leads to inflation. What they are doing with the increased tax collection , god only knows.
