krishna_Bidda Posted September 25, 2020 Share Posted September 25, 2020 Harley davidson is just a luxury brand motor cycle which is limited to literally 5% of Indian house holds and also it's average price is about 10000 $ for the lowest one which is 7lakh ...even in 5% one should have a pride to biking which decides whether he is a consumer or not...when it's competitor bullet is giving bike for 3 -4 lakh for high end not many would prefer to buy it ....dunkin donuts failed in literally and papa john's pizza failed literally ..also chevrolet and does failed in India ....it is the companys adaptability to adjust to indian consimy base that decides success of a foreign company India and not make in India....honda is a foreign bike company which is successful and toyota ,hyundaiand honda cars were successful in India .... because of their adaptability to the local consumer base and they also have high taxes just any foreign company... Recently Harley tried to partnership with companies , indian companies didn't show much interest because of steep decline in its sales. It Coloborated with Benelli (chineese owned it) . The rising middle class and the increasing wealth of the people naturally creates demand for luxury products. China has become the biggest market for luxury products in the last two decades. On the other hand, the last 6 years saw Indian economy regressing. Demand, not only for luxury vehicles but also for normal motorcycles and cars, was contracting even before covid.
