While the second part of the NTR biopic Mahanayakudu is being shot, his eldest son-in-law, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao’s decision to join rival camp YSR Congress Party has triggered curiosity on his portrayal in the film.

Daggubati played a big role in NTR’s political journey and in setting up the Telugu Desam Party in the initial days. While the filmmakers have been trying to depict Daggubati’s great services to the party, his decision to join the rival camp (YSRCP) has now put them in a quandary.

A source informs, “The filmmakers want to show reality and don’t want to deviate from the historical facts. But since Daggubati recently switched loyalties, they are in a predicament over how to portray NTR’s eldest son-in-law.” Directed by Krish, Mahanayakudu is slated to release in February.
