Film actor worships at Bhadradri temple

Several die-hard fans of Telugu film actor Junior NTR, who wanted to meet him and convey their feelings seeking his entry into active politics, were left disappointed when the car carrying their matinee idol did not stop at the bypass road here on Friday. Fans gathered in good numbers to welcome him late in the afternoon.

A large group of Junior NTR fans carrying placards waited at the bypass road here for more than an hour to accord him a rousing reception on his arrival in the town en-route Hyderabad from the temple town of Bhadrachalam.

They held placards that read ‘Telangana Telugu Desam Party Nee Kosam Yeduruchustundhi – Junior’ and other messages calling upon the Tollywood star to assume the responsibility of strengthening the TDP, founded by his grandfather and legendary actor late N.T. Rama Rao.

However, much to their disappointment, the vehicle carrying the film star did not halt at the spot where they made arrangements to receive him. The car proceeded straight towards Suryapet.

A mild commotion prevailed when some frenzied fans rushed onto the road to greet their favourite actor but in vain.

A fan of the film actor reportedly sustained a leg injury when he tried to pass through a barricade put up by the police to regulate traffic on the bypass road.

Earlier, Junior NTR accompanied by his wife Lakshmi Pranathi offered special prayers at the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
