Now it is entirely increased tax on many items. Tax rate was 25% in 2013 if i remember correctly on SUV for personal use. But that time many people were claiming as recreation vehicle for group or for business purpose and were paying 12% tax only (this was loophole i got know from my friend ). After GST, it became 43%....lot of people does not know this. but you thought bus travel ticket price increased in july suddenly due to petrol/diesel hike... Also after demonetisation, all banks reduced FD rates a lot...Before demonetisation it was 9% for retired person. Now it is 6.5% only.
