Officials confirmed to this newspaper that the State government is planning two barrages, one at Vaikuntapuram and another in Voleru village in Guntur district, for storage of at least 5 tmc feet of water to fulfil the drinking water needs of people in new capital which is expected to be 35 lakh by 2050. Source said as per preliminary plan, barrage at Voleru will helpful to prevent sea back water into the Krishna river and plain areas in Srikakulam area of Krishna district to reduce salinity of the ground water. Water will be stored between fourth apron of Pulichintala project and Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada if the proposed two new barrages are constructed. However, Irrigation experts and some of the senior engineers in irrigation department are not sure over the advantage new proposal of building the barrages for storage of Krishna water. A senior engineer said it would be decided whether they are barrages or anicuts depending on investigation report. Experts say that the barrages are useful if there is sufficient water from Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar projects. “The State government is diverting Godavari water to Prakasam barrage due to severe water shortage in River Krishna. Then, how the new barrages will serve the needs of capital city while the water availability in River Krishna is once in four years (in monsoon only)” retired irrigation engineer S Nageswara Rao pointed out. He said the barrages were useful only when there is surplus water. However, Krishna delta chief engineer Y S Sudhakar said “We hope that the construction of barrages will be beneficial to some extent when there is surplus water in the River Krishna and sufficient water is released from Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar”. Whereas, Irrigation experts suggests a better solution that storage of Godavari water along Right Main Canal (RMC) of Polavaram project will be useful for drinking and irrigation water needs of both Amaravati capital city and Krishna delta. Former retired superintending engineer K Haranath told The Hans India that a big reservoir with a capacity of about 30 tmc feet need to be constructed in Kondapalli forest area and Velagaleru area of Krishna district to meet the drinking water needs of new capital city and irrigation water demands of Krishna delta. He said there was there was 10 lakh to 30 lakh cusecs of flood water in River Godavari in monsoon. So the government should construct reservoirs along the left and right canals of Polavaram project and divert the flood water into them. They would serve drinking and irrigation needs in the absence of water in River Krishna and in non-monsoon season too, he said. Experts also expressed doubts over the plan of State government on storage 5 to 8 tmc ft only for capital city. “Water would be needed for industrial and other purposes too in future. It is necessary to store at least 30 tmc ft to 50 tmc ft during flood and cyclone season. Otherwise, drinking water will also be not available,” Harinath said. sonykongara Posted May 13, 2017 Author Share Posted May 13, 2017 ఓలేరు వద్ద మరొకటి! ప్రకాశం బ్యారేజి దిగువన మొత్తం రెండు ఆనకట్టలు పూర్తి స్థాయి ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదిక సిద్ధం చేసేందుకు ఆదేశాలు డీపీఆర్‌ కోసం టెండర్లు ఈనాడు, అమరావతి: ప్రకాశం బ్యారేజి దిగువన యనమలకుదురు సమీపంలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ జలవనరులశాఖ కొత్త ఆనకట్టల నిర్మాణానికి సిద్ధమవుతోంది. యనమలకుదురు వద్ద ఒకటి, విజయవాడకు బాగా దిగువన 50 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో ఓలేరు వద్ద మరొకటి నిర్మించాలని యోచిస్తున్నారు. యనమలకుదురు వద్ద నిర్మించే ఆనకట్ట విషయంలో రాష్ట్ర ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబు కేంద్ర జలవనరులశాఖ మంత్రికి లేఖ రాసిన విషయం ‘ఈనాడు’ వెల్లడించగా దీంతో పాటు ఓలేరు వద్దా మరో ప్రతిపాదన ఉందని జలవనరులశాఖ అధికారిక వర్గాల ద్వారా తెలిసింది. యనమలకుదురు ఆనకట్టని న్యూమేటిక్‌ ఓబర్‌ మేయర్‌ గేట్స్‌ తరహాలో నిర్మిస్తారు. అంటే బెలూన్‌ పద్ధతిలో నిర్మాణం ఉంటుందని, అందులో గాలి నింపడం, తొలగించడం ద్వారా గేట్లు తెరుచుకోవడం, మూసుకోవడం జరుగుతుందని జలవనరులశాఖ ఉన్నతాధికారి ఒకరు చెప్పారు. ఈ టెక్నాలజీ వినియోగిస్తే ఇందుకు అయ్యే ఖర్చు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వమే భరించే వెసులుబాటు ఉందని అందువల్లే కేంద్ర జలవనరుల మంత్రి దృష్టికి తీసుకువెళ్లినట్లు తెలిపారు. రాజధాని అమరావతిని ఆనుకుని నిర్మించే ఈ ఆనకట్ట ఇటు విజయవాడ నగరం, అటు రాజధాని ప్రాంతం సుందరీకరణకు, జలక్రీడలకు, తాగునీటి అవసరాలకు ఉపయోగపడుతుందని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. ఓలేరుపై 2015లోనే నివేదిక విశ్రాంత ఇంజినీర్లు, ప్రసుత్త అధికారులు ఓలేరు ప్రాంతాన్ని పరిశీలించి 2015లోనే ప్రభుత్వానికి ఒక నివేదిక ఇచ్చారు. ఇక్కడ కృష్ణా నది వెడల్పు మూడు నుంచి నాలుగు కిలోమీటర్లు ఉంటుంది. ఆనకట్ట నిర్మించడం వల్ల ఈ ప్రాంతంలో ఉప్పునీటి సమస్య తగ్గుతుంది. కృష్ణా నదిలో దిగువకు జలాలు రాని సందర్భాల్లో ఉప్పునీరు ఎగదన్ని నదీ పరీవాహక ప్రాంతం ఉప్పునీటితో నిండిపోతోంది. ఇక్కడ ఆనకట్ట నిర్మించి నీటిని నిల్వ చేయడం వల్ల భూగర్భజలాల్లో ఉప్పునీటిని తగ్గించవచ్చని నిపుణులు గుర్తించారు. పూర్తి స్థాయి ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికకు ఆదేశాలు ఈ రెండు ఆనకట్టల నిర్మాణానికి పూర్తి స్థాయి ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదిక కోసం జలవనరులశాఖ ఆదేశించింది. వ్యాప్కోస్‌ ప్రతినిధులు ఇప్పటికే కొంత కసరత్తు చేశారు. పూర్తి స్థాయి ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదిక కోసం రూ.9.93 కోట్లు ఖర్చవుతుందని అంచనా వేశారు. అవసరమైన ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికల కోసం టెండర్లు ఆహ్వానించాలని నిర్ణయించినట్లు సమాచారం. sonykongara Posted May 20, 2017 Author Share Posted May 20, 2017 కృష్ణాపై మరో బ్యారేజీ అనుమతి కోసం ఉమాభారతికి వెంకయ్య లేఖ తక్షణమే స్పందించిన కేంద్రం ప్రతిపాదనల కోసం రాష్ర్టానికి లేఖ అమరావతి, మే 19(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): కృష్ణానదిపై రాష్ట్రంలో మరో బ్యారేజీ రానుంది. ప్రకాశం బ్యారేజీకి దిగువున 12 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో... 1.75 టీఎంసీల సామర్థ్యంతో దీన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నారు. సముద్రంలోకి వృథాగా పోతున్న నీటిని ఒడిసి పట్టడంతోపాటు ఆ నీటిని దారి మళ్లించే వినూత్న పథకానికి రంగం సిద్ధం చేస్తున్నారు. ఈ విషయంలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వ కృషిని అభినందించాలని, ఈ బ్యారేజీకి అనుమతివ్వాలని కోరుతూ కేంద్ర జలవనరుల శాఖ మంత్రి ఉమాభారతికి... కేంద్ర పట్టణాభివృద్ధి శాఖ మంత్రి ఎం.వెంకయ్యనాయుడు గత నెల ఆరో తేదీన లేఖ రాశారు. ఈ బ్యారేజీ నిర్మాణానికి అపెక్స్‌ కౌన్సిల్‌ చైర్మన్‌ హోదాలో అనుమతులు ఇవ్వాలంటూ ఏపీ సీఎం చంద్రబాబు ఇప్పటికే లేఖ రాసిన విషయాన్ని ఉమాభారతికి వెంకయ్య గుర్తు చేశారు. త్వరలోనే ఇందుకు సంబంధించి పూర్తిస్థాయి నివేదికను కేంద్ర జల వనరుల శాఖకు ఏపీ సమర్పించనున్నదని, ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు పట్ల సానుకూల వైఖరిని ప్రదర్శించాలని ఉమాభారతిని కోరారు. జాతీయ దృక్పథంతో ఈ ప్రాజెక్టును ఆమోదించాలని కూడా సూచించారు. దీంతో, ఈ అంశాన్ని అత్యంత అవసరమైనదిగా భావించి చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలంటూ కేంద్ర జల సంఘానికి... కేంద్ర జలవనరుల శాఖ సూచించింది. ఈ బ్యారేజీ నిర్మాణానికి సంబంధించిన డీపీఆర్‌ను పంపాలంటూ ఏపీ జలవనరులశాఖ కార్యదర్శి శశిభూషణ్‌ కుమార్‌కు కేంద్ర జలవనరుల సంస్థ ఈ నెల 9న లేఖ రాసింది.
