Sri Lanka players are out of danger, Vice Captain

Mar 03, Colombo: Following the attack on Sri Lanka cricket team in Pakistan, Vice Captain of the team, Kumar Sangakkara confirmed that all the players in the team are out of danger.

 

Speaking to the Sri Lankan media moments ago Sangakkara said only Thilan Samaraweera and Assistant Coach were admitted to the hospital, but they are also now out of danger.

 

Others players sustained minor injuries due to the attack, he added.

 

Meanwhile Sports Minister of Sri Lanka Gamini Lokuge said that he will take immediate steps to bring the team back to the country.

 

If there is no flight from Pakistan to Sri Lanka during the next few hours the Minister is ready to send a special flight from Sri Lanka to bring the team back, he said.

 

The Minister assured that he will bring the team home by this evening.

 

Soon after the incident Pakistan's sports minister Aftab Shah Jilani has apologized to Sri Lanka. Issuing a special message Pakistani sports minister has said he is very sorry that an incident like this has happened.
