Anna Hazare: Deeply pained, but Arvind Kejriwal paying for his deeds

Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), March 22: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Friday said that he felt “deeply pained” by the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, “who is now paying for his own deeds”.

Interacting with a large crowd of mediapersons at his native village Ralegan-Siddhi this morning, Anna Hazare, 86, recalled his old association with Arvind Kejriwal during the India Against Corruption (IAC)’s long movement in New Delhi in 2011, and other places.

“I remember, he was working with me and we both had raised our voices against liquor… But now he’s trying to accord legal sanction to liquor. I felt very hurt by it,” lamented Hazare.

However, he said nothing can be done against the government and CM Kejriwal has been arrested for his own dark acts.

“If he had not done such things (liquor policy), this (arrest) would not have happened. Now, the law shall take its course, the government will see and decide what has to be done,” declared Hazare flatly.

This is for @Rajakeeyam babai, no matter how much I/we hate MOSHA, heard this comment from a close friend, once IAS, IFS guys fight/lobby to work in PMO/Delhi offices, now a days they are considering it as punishment. Due to the transparency/on time work. Extremely efficient like a corporate offices

  4. this was the narration for curious lads:

The Pokran 1998, APJ was incharge and got worried once PVNR lost the election, reached out to him on the same night raising the concerns about the launch which was due within 2 Months, PVNR drove APJ to Vajpayee's residence on the same night, ofcource well received by Vajpayee, PVNR told only one sentence and left the place"Vajpayee ji, this Gentle man will brief you about one critical program, please do as he say" And all of us know, the rest is history. I, Exactly remeber APJ's words, and he re-emphasised the sentence couple of times 'Two great states men, spoken only one line'

"I used to be on the board of HSBC in London (between 2008 and 2012). In the first few years, when China was mentioned two to three times in the boardroom (during meetings), India's name would be mentioned once," said the well-known businessman in response to a question on where he sees India in the future.

"But unfortunately, I don't know what happened (to India) afterwards. (Former PM) Manmohan Singh was an extraordinary individual and I have tremendous respect for him. But, somehow, India stalled (during UPA-era). Decisions were not taken and everything was delayed," said Mr Murthy.

Mr Murthy said when he left HSBC (in 2012), India's name hardly found a mention during meetings, while China's name was taken nearly 30 times.

"So, I think it is your (young generation) responsibility to make people mention India's name whenever they mention any other country's name, particularly China. I think you people can do that," said Mr Murthy.

The former Infosys chairman said there was a time when most Westerners looked down upon India, but today, there is a certain level of respect for the country, which has now become the world's fifth largest economy.

According to him, the economic reforms of 1991, when Manmohan Singh was the finance minister, and the present Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government's schemes like 'Make In India' and 'Startup India' have helped the country gain ground.
